I told SC in a reply to a hug tonight that tonight I went to the 35th anniversary concert celebrating the start of my favorite Uruguayan band in 1980. That was the same year the tide turned in Uruguay's dictatorship and the nonviolent movement toward democracy started like Nelson Mandela's nonviolent movement that overthrew apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s.
So the room was full of people who had PTSD but have gone from victim to survivor to thriver with it. I found myself actually crying for joy. It was like being with 1,000 people from DS PTSD face to face, all celebrating healing from PTSD together. Not denying the pain, but celebrating survival and thriving.
My username on DS PTSD is in honor of Uruguay's Pres. Mujica, our Mandela who also was a political prisoner who became president through nonviolence. He was elected after coming out publicly about having PTSD from his years in prison.

It was a beautiful night. I found myself standing and clapping at the show's end with tears of joy in my eyes. The people in the audience around me saw what I was doing, and hugged me like the people here at DS PTSD send me hugs.
I couldn't wait to get back to my computer and tell everybody at DS PTSD about it. It was for a night like this that I got through so many years of flashbacks and nightmares after my torture by the dictatorship and escape to the USA. I'm so glad I came back to Uruguay to visit and celebrate! Thanks for celebrating with me.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed.
