Sounds weird, I know. I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience though..
If I'm having a really bad panic attack, or just a really bad day in general, I can start to feel the literal pressure of my stress and anxiety in my brain. Like my thoughts are pushing against my skull. It doesn't hurt at all, just very bothersome. Sort of like when you feel the need to punch a wall, there's the urge so you can just get a release. Same with cutting, personally. I feel the tensions build in my arms.
But feeling the tension in my head is THE WORST of them all. I can hit a wall. I can cut. Neither of those are positive but at least the feeling leaves. With this, I usually end up in a heap on the floor, sobbing, yelling, feeling confused, feeling like I'm not even in my head anymore. Like I'm not even myself.
It's really a problem at times and it's confusing because I can't even name the feeling, other than weird brain pressure, but not actual pressure.. If that makes sense?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
No idea how to stop it, other than recognizing that if you feel that "pressure", you need to maybe do some calming breathing and get in a quiet place (bathroom is my fave, guaranteed no interruptions except by the cat) and see why it is before the what of it takes over. If *that* made snese. Running on litle sleep, lot of stress here.
Point is, you're not alone, and the above suggestion is all I've got for the problem at this point....
The bonus for me, since I only remember the truamas, are that more good memories are coming through. Not fast, but glimpses of them. Considering even the birth of my daughter was blocked I take this as a good sign. I know that most have traumas blocked so what comes through the sludge may not be good, but keep posting. We can help you get through it. Even my trauma memory has it's benefits, because it helps me understand what others fear. I am still alive regardless of the tries to end me. Here to be what I can to help.
Gentlest of hugs.

Not trying t be funny, but that's what my hubby calls these. My "emo-farts". Such a way with words, my man!
sorry not running on all cylinders right now.... but this group is awesome for support. keep talking to them
I hope it doesn't last long for you.
Nothing I did helped it ....NOTHING!
The only thing that broke the ice to at least get me crying is coming here and getting a hug ..........
many hugs to you~
When I was inpatient a few weeks ago, I was anxious and they got an original reading of a high but not too high blood pressure, 140 over something... The thing is, I thought it was a fluke. I'm usually at around 100-110/70-80. That's pretty consistent for me. But now that I think about it, that makes total sense... Higher blood pressure during stress would cause weird symptoms. Thanks for the insight!
I was on prazosin for nightmares even though it's for blood pressure too. That made me REALLY SICK and didn't help with what it was supposed to. I could feel that my circulator system was all wrong.
I think I'll do my own case study, if you will, on myself. I'll buy the blood pressure cuff and when I feel really bad, I can at least manage. Perhaps prazosin could help in that case? I'm still supposed to be taking it but I couldn't. The bottle says don't skip doses but pdoc said it's ok... I dunno. I'll look into it but I find it interesting,ya know?
Sorry for rambling! I just have lots of thought on this. The science behind things helps me tremendously, which is why I chose psych and nursing as my college majors!
Glad the blood pressure/stress connection helped. Take care & be good to yourself.
I don't really WANT that pill. I never really wanted it to begin with. I suppose I'm more interested in the science of it.
I try to describe to a doctor and they look at me funny.
One doctor told me it could be a brain tumor.
I had an MRI and they could find no reason for the pressure.
It gets worse when I lay down.
It is a weird pressure that does not hurt, but I swear I can feel my brain too.
I kept thinking it was from anxiety and other related PTSD symptoms.
Guess it is since you all have it too.
It's like a stress barometer.
