My idea of "hopeful" songs are odd to others. Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". Queen's "We are the champions". Chumbawumba's one hit wonder "I get knocked down, I get up again" (that's the refrain and the only words I can hear anyway, so I don't care what else is in it, LOL)... Sting's "A dream of rain". I tend to associate tehe song with a good memory, so that gives me the hope, not the song. Did that make sense? Like, "Wind beneath my wings" inspires thousands as a hopeful song and makes me anxious and tearful. Soooo....

Yeah, right now I'm listening to Beth Hart's "I'll Stay With You" because it's a song about swearing to stand by somebody, "and make your pain my own," which is a pretty great statement of solidarity taken the right way.

Charlie would always looked around at wedding receptions for me whenever this song came on to dance (he wasn't much for dancing). I wore a red dress to our daughter's wedding and she had this at the top of her playlist. The one thing I miss more than anything is his touch, the way he held me in his arms and made me feel as though there was no one else around. I can still close my eyes today, listen to this song and feel his love, the warm and comfort he brought me. I miss him so much!!
