Help! my son just got away from a sociapath

It was six months of pure agony for me that I had no idea the monsters I was going to be dealing with along with what my son has gone through. My son was taken from me by a sociopath and her mother who work as a team! He was gone for 6 months! I recently got him back and he is a mess! I don't know where to start or what to do to help him! He has been through so much, I can tell just by what I went through during this time! I can tell that something very bad happened and he was made to do things against his will! I really need help I am unchartered territory!

That's terrible. Can you file a police report? Get him support from counseling, therapy or whatever the situation requires.

Deep breaths, kit. It sounds like you have a long haul ahead of you. . . Quick fixes just might be your worst enemy right now. Easy does it. Set a pace you can keep.

How old is your son? What have you tried so far?

Keep venting, kit. It is allot to sort. Gentle support while you find your way.

Kit, just adding to what has already been said...vent, vent...so many caring people here. This must be so hard!! A place I found, just a suggestion, "Out of the Fog.net" helped me...understanding what I was dealing with....My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this very difficult time!!

Agreed with above, and just go ahead and realize it'll be a long healing process for all involved, and take the pressure off yourself to find an instant fix. It's a natural impulse, but it can lead down some crooked paths.
