Heads Up Re Stress This Final Exams Week

Hey, y'all,


Just a heads up that in just ending Monday this week I'm realizing Finals Week this semester is going to be more of a handful for me this time.  Due to the pandemic, I've been teaching all of my classes via computer live streaming from home to nursing students at my full time community college job. 



As with the rest of the world of education, there was no training for the big change from face to face teaching in person to this all digital teaching.  I've had to figure it out in real time day by day right there with students online.  It's amazing it's gone as well as it has it has, with only a couple of computer crashes all semester.



However, now I'm having to figure out how to do final exams and final papers all digitally on the fly, too.  A lot of people think that those teachers like me are working from home, that's made it easier.  Think again.  I taught face to face in classrooms in person for 40 years from my first class in 1980 until now.  Digitizing 40 years of notes from paper to offering them online is not easier, believe me.



My final grades are due after Friday Dec. 11 of this week, and I've got to figure out how those are posted digitally from home now, too.  So if my presence as CL here on DS PTSD has any brevity to it this week, please don't take it personally and please don't worry for me.  It's just that this week is a new final exams week for me.  Then, as I keep telling myself, this too shall pass.

I like how you're keeping in mind that this too shall pass. You'll get through it and then you'll get a break. And this term is helping you work out any bugs for next term. It'll be easier next time around. Peace and strength.

Thanks for the support everybody. It helps me every time. It's a busy week, but I have only one more double period class left to teach today, so things are looking up.

    Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
