The new parents were somewhat nervous about the separation drama coinciding with the birth of their first child. I think. I have been following maternal hunches in the treacherous guess work of keeping them informed while keeping the information concise enough to be as teensy a part of their big event as possible.
Yesterday grandpa and grandma both piled into a single car and drove from Austin to San Antonio to visit our 13 day old grandson. The five of us suffered the heat of the downtown River Walk district. The Texas Baked asphalt was the most heated part of the afternoon. The grandfolks made their way back home as the sky was cooling enough to begin cooling the asphalt.
Hubby and I challenged some of our recent tit for tat skirmishes on the way home. It felt more productive for the knowledge that neither of us would have to stir fresh helpings into our coffee or tea this morning. I am still digesting yesterday.

Thanks for sharing about your visit with your grandbaby. First off, congrats once again. It's got to be a treat to see that little one every time.
The timing is a lot to handle, I imagine. I mean the family timing of possibly leaving the role of spouse and taking on the role of becoming a grandmother at the same time. That's gotta have an element of whiplash to it. It sounds like you're following your own best advice you give here, often, though: small bites, long chews. We're rooting for you through this. In my mad delusion, addresses are arbitrary in family dynamics. Mom and Dad remain Mom and Dad wherever each lays their heads at night. Even if one of them is experiencing winter in July.
