Last night I approached an elder of the new face to face support group I've found since retiring to Mexico.  I want to go all in on this wonderful find, so I asked him to be a sponsor.  I just retired from teaching to move here, and he's a teacher.  I'm excited that it looks like we're a good fit.

That’s great muji. I didn’t know that ptsd support groups had sponsors. Over here I think only addiction groups do. My ignorance I guess. Good idea though.

I had a sit down with my Mexican support group sponsor last night. He told me to go into more detail sharing about being tortured by Uruguayan soldiers trained by US advisers from the CIA. Down here you can tell the whole story, he said, so I'm sharing tonight. Pray for me, it's hard to talk about but I want to get it out and I never really have on DS.

Thanks, y'all, it sure didn't take long to find the support I needed down here in Mexico. I just found out that another member of our face to face support group is a teacher, too!

    Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
