As I told SC in a private message a minute ago, I am back from court. At one point I was called up to the bench and got to tell the judge quietly and privately about my PTSD dx. It was done properly. However, I was excused simply because they got 12 jurors accepted by the lawyers for both parties from the jury pool before my number came up next. I JUST squeaked by. Lucky, huh? I oughtta buy a lottery ticket today!

Thanks for thinking of me. It would have been stressful--it was a trial about a violent crime. But I'm ok. Now off to teach school. Yay!

52 said in a hug message that someone was looking out for me in court when I got called for jury duty today. Somebody really was looking out for me. My progress since joining DS PTSD really showed. The judge asked me to come up to the bench and describe the incident that gave me PTSD. I was able to say it without choking, the first time I'd ever spoken having been tortured outside a therapist's office or here. I'd rather not talk about it out in the world, but seeing that I could do it and keep my dignity--that really was new and good.
