I am only on here because my therapists tell me I have PTSD, except they don't even call it that because this is so common in victims. I was raped and I am terrified of him and of what happened. Being at the same small college, I see him everywhere, all the time, and my friends love hanging out with the soccer team (the team he's on) and my roommate is dating his friend... triggers of what happened are everywhere, and I have no way to escape. Of course my friends don't understand (They found out because of my reactions to seeing him/ the whole event in general), not really. As much as I try to ignore it, I feel like I will never move on. People keep telling me to move on, but I can't see that happening anytime soon. Hell, I wish I could move on. I want to. I wish it never happened. And all of this seems to be destroying my life. I'm ready to give up and just go home.

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I am a bit curious what your therapists do call ^it^, but what to call ^it^ isn't as important as recovering. Badly treated trauma can, indeed, destroy a life. "Moving On" is all too often easier said than done.
Gentle support while you find your way through, Rising. You are not alone.
I really wish I'd been referred to an actual PTSD specialist back then. From what we know about PTSD, whatever your doc is calling yours, the earlier it's treated the better. I went through years of symptoms and a divorce after college before I got the help I needed and deserved. I hope you get the help you need and deserve sooner.
they are wrong to say those things to you and are in their way traumatising you too.
you can find a counselor by going to the website www.rainn.org and either online chat or calling the number
they have local to you, free trauma counseling.
coming here was a smart and good thing to do; you've got us now and that is good xo
There are many colleges that are great, and moving to another might really help you heal, maybe even a small college where you feel safer! My daughter went to Liberty U just to feel safe. The big state colleges felt insecure to her and are to many! It's sad how this is becoming an epidemic, and the internet doesn't help w all the cyber sex. Walk away if you need to, for you, no matter what others say. Healing hugs! <3
I think it would be really hard to start to work on healing if you're seeing him at school all the time ... at least it would be for me
I would at least consider changing schools..... Have you had this dealt with in any type of legal way as yet?
Not seeing him regularly in school is something that you deserve sweetie.... Gentle hug.....xo
