I like Neil Patrick Harris ... I used to think I was in love with him lol ... I would watch Dr. Horribles sing along blog on repeat, I watched How I met your mother every day, even went out of my way to find episodes of Doogie Howser ... watched the Tonys whenever he hosted them ... etc. Hes doing great on Series of unfortunate events speaking of Netflix originals. I love his singing voice, his acting is so good and funny and he seems like a nice and healthy person irl

Marie Sklodowska Curie. I read about her when I was 8. My dad's family always told us how stupid Polish people are, how I was ugly, how I was a nerd and geek and never worth anything.

Maria Sklowdowska was born and educated in Poland. She was able to get permission to leave what was then partitioned Poland to study advanced in Paris. She went on to marry a fellow scientist, Pierre, and shared a Nobel with him before earning one on her own. Curium is named for her; she named polonium for her beloved (then partitioned into a memory) homeland. That she came from an oppressed Poland, in an era when women did *not* do advanced anything outside the home, and went on to win two Nobel prizes (one physics, one chemistry) gave me hope that a skinny useless nothing (as I was told I was) could succeed, too. She's still a role model.

Gilda Radner? maybe? i'm trying to think of someone and she comes up - she was so funny, no matter what may have been happening just seeing her made me laugh. now, thinking about her and her life? wonder what she may have been living through while she made me laugh? my brain is tired, but i think i'll choose Gilda.

Maria Sklodowska is one of my heroes. A woman worthy of epics. Alas, I never could find links between her amazing life and my U.S. street kid realities. I have an altar to her in my herbal oil extraction lab, though.

Thank you for the reminder of Gilda, Lilly. She completely fell off my radar. Broke my heart to discover she died of ovarian cancer at the age of 42. Ouch. My personal favorite Gilda Radner quote is, "I base most of my fashion taste on what doesn't itch." My kind of gal!!!!

Lilly Tomlin, by the way, is a role model to an entire generation of comedians of all kinds. It's amazing how funny she still is in Grace and and Frankie.

In Uruguay my role model is Jose Mujica, which is my Mujica is my username. Like Nelson Mandela of South Africa, he want from being a political prisoner for many years to being elected president. And as president I'll never forget how he when he cut the ribbon on a new hospital he spoke out about having PTSD. His bravery did so much to take away the stigma.

I find some of my greatest Hollywood histories by following supporting actors. Superstar egos only get to go so many places. Supporting actors are welcome on a far greater range of sets.

my inspiration to start writing came from Shel Silverstien. i was briefly exposed to his children's poetry very young. his poem "Bandaids" set me to pen and paper and i've never looked back.

Bill Nye. Do what's right because it's right. Be what I am, because it's how I want to be. I've probably gotten more "karma" in my life than anyone I know...yet...it makes me sad. I've wanted less karma than anyone I know. Yet, I wonder if it's in part an illusion. That I just hear more about it because I'm more non-judgmental. My life is (mostly) structured so that I can help people.

Whereas, so many people I know don't have $20 to lend (give) a friend, an hour to watch their child, a meal to share, the strength to hear a sad story, or non-judgmental enough to support someone else in their chosen beliefs...

I'm never quite sure whether it's being an atheist or pacifist that earns me more scorn...ah well, such is life.
