The photo of my black cat caught mid-meow. She is now named "Draculita" b/c she just looks so like a cranky little vampire!

I built a new chicken coop to relieve some of the crowding in the old coop. I moved the youngest of my chickens to the new coop and closed up the coop for a few days to help them acclimate to their new digs. Yesterday morning one of the young birds managed to escape while I was working in the coop. Catching a chicken during the day is generally more work than it is worth, so I left her outside the coop when I was finished with my work. She was comedy in motion for the rest of the day, running frantically around the coop trying to rejoin her broodmates.

Chickens are major anxiety sufferers, though I'm not at all sure they have enough long-term memory function to suffer PTSD.

The chicks are funny,they do have major anxiety , my brother loved chickens , God I miss him ! Funny story about his chicks : he found his hen sitting on 7 eggs ......they hatched , Wawa 7 chicks RIGHT ? Smh no , 7 little roasters !!! He said: in all his life he had NEVER seen all males !!! Little dummies he called them :) thanks for allowing me to share ,it made me smile and I really need it right now ,things are bad here , ........

Whenever I find myself with too many roosters, I am always torn between serving them up for dinner or taking bets from the neighbors on when the next cock fight is gonna break out. Cock fighting really is an all-natural sport.

And of course you already know that the majority of the chicken you've eaten in your life is rooster meat. Sh-h-h-h. . . Don't tell the guys. The poultry industry can't handle the sexual discrimination lawsuits.

When I was in 6th grade, my friend Scott was talking to a group of us during recess, and he gestured with his hand palm up. Right then a seagull flying overhead from the nearby beach crapped directly into the palm of his hand as if right on cue. We kids all fell over laughing, it was just one of the funniest things we ever saw.

Sometimes it is good to just laugh regardless of how things are. A friend of mine who is in her 70's would spend a long time on the phone just laughing. Thinking about it making me smile. I appreciate you guys at DS

Funny because sometimes you just gotta laugh at life: So, the household internet was out and I ran out of data on my phone way more quickly than I expected. After it took me 2 days to get more I ran out again 2 days later. Now that I finally have more I'm realizing how much I miss that household unlimited plan......... (You know, funny like when you're trying to head NW but on the N going street you're stuck behind a transit bus and can't pass so you turn onto a W going street only to get stuck behind a garbage truck or something. If it wasn't an urgent situation or anything it can be funny after the truck turns off and you can actually get somewhere....)

Funny, cuz it's kind of funny: So I was out driving my son home from somewhere the other night. He often hands me stuff to put in the trash when I'm driving (he sits in back). So when he said ",here Mom" I just automatically put my hand back there thinking he wanted to give me an empty snack container or something. But nope. It was something else. So I'm sitting there trying to figure out what to do with this ice cube he handed me..... I eventually threw it out the window, but he got me laughing cuz I was not expecting that.....

Beryl I agree, life is life and sometimes we need to just laugh. That's why I started this topic because life can be life and a laugh break is needed.

Your son is so funny. He seems to be a young child. Kids will let you laugh all day at times.

When I was young, my dad would take me on weekend camping tricks teaching me survival skills, fishing, building shelters, tracking…….. we would fish and if we didn’t catch anything we would have to wait till the next morning to eat breakfast on the way home. Well one day I thought, I will pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich some chips, a candy bar and soda loosely wrapped up in my sleeping bag. As luck would have it, we did not catch any fish for dinner that evening. So when I got hungry I pulled out my sandwich and began eating it. When my dad saw me eating, he asked for a bite. My response was “No, sorry dad, survival of the fittest, I came prepared.” But, since I felt sorry for him, I gave him the chips. I think all these survival skills helped me with my emergency management skills.

Another funny story is that one night when I was still living at home, my dad came home and said he had eaten some Buffalo wings. He said in a serious tone that they were nothing but chicken wings. We all laughed. I said to my dad, you grew up on a farm right? He replied yes. I asked, have you ever seen a Buffalo with wings?
