I have PTSD from when I was a child and I know that my reasons are not as bad as others.
My family got into large fights when I was just little and because of how small I was, I could never do anything, and that is what I have always done. Today in the car, my dad got into a freak-out and started screaming and I got too many flashbacks to when I was a kid, I really am scared to go around him and I don't know what to do.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
You just took a solid step toward figuring out what to do. Sharing about my symptoms in a supportive environment helps me clear my mind enough that I can begin looking at ^it^ a bit more objectively. Hope it works for you, as well. Share freely. Share often.
I had a rage-out dad who was very very loud and screamed a lot. Frankly, terrified the crap outta me from birth onward. I still have nightmares about the man and he died over 20 years ago and I'm pushing 50. Now is that "all" that happened? Nope. Is that enough? Hey, trauma is trauma, and terror is terror. You were a little kid who was faced by a human volcano. And when we're introduced to fear and helplessness that young? Leaves a big mark on our formative "clay". One breath at a time, and vent away.
