Hi. I have PTSD and suffer from what I call "episodes" where everything starts to "morph" -- sounds change, and faces change, and I start to feel like I'm in a tunnel and that I'm really physically ill. Moreover I feel I've experienced this exact moment before. It's the worst deja vu you can imagine! I know they are flashbacks to childhood abuse, and I know there are other posts about this in this group. I too am perplexed at why I have them and when. I recently had a really bad one and completely dissociated. When this happens (rarely now) I lose all sense of where i am and what is happening and when I finally come back to consciousness, I can't remember ANYTHING about what I said or did during the fugue state. It's so scary.
Anyway, besides from sharing there is another reason I am posting this. I am a writer and I am interested in other people's experiences with flashbacks or dissociation. If you are willing to share with me, I promise i won't publish anything with anybody's real or fictional names, and, moreover, I won't publish anything without showing it to you first.
Thanks!
T

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Since I have amnesia to the main cause of my PTSD, my flashbacks are more environmental and emotional.
Suddenly I will feel like I am in a different place, a scary place, like I was before. To the point where I can feel raised wounds on my body, and sense a presence coming from down the hall. These usually either trigger panick attacks or severe dissociation.
