I am not all the way sure, but I think I am on day three of being shut off in my room. I am even committing the social sin of smoking in the house with a big, ol' "Dare you to complain" chip on my shoulder. Burrowing in my room is a thoroughly unnatural thing for this frequent flier. Throughout my long mental health herstory, I do not burrow where anyone who knows me knows where my burrow is. Wilderness campsites, motels and the like are far more my style. What good is a burrow if your predators know where the entrance is? I do not believe I am being too ridiculous about it. I am still feeling sincerely civil when I encounter the other household members in the kitchen or bathroom. My isolation feels more like self-care than fear. I am in transition. Reflection (chew) time has been my most useful tool during past transitions. I need to find the gentlest lights in my heart. It doesn't take much outside light to drown out gentle lights. They are as subtle as gossamer reflections in the sunlight. If whatever is next is to come from my heart, I must read those gentle lights.
My beloved is mustering up his corporate aggression for his return to work tomorrow. He sure looks like his father when he slides into work mode. All righteous certainty and glare; my way or no way; about me or without me. I reckon that is just what it takes to succeed in the business world. I reckon we can pull out one of the FIL's most used lines to explain it. "You can't possibly understand. You aren't there" Fair enough. My business successes are marginal, at best. Could we get a bit of quid pro quo going here? You aren't here for my part, either. Your steadfast certainty works better at a board room table than at a family business table. As much as I appreciate the financial stability he has provided, I find him hard to take in his work mode. I even wonder if his work mode was the primary cause of that gall bladder explosion...
And now for the next dynamic on the other side of the door. My family business table looks decidedly different since my beloved took sick in November. Eldest son has moved out and youngest son has moved his family in. I do knot know, but I do believe that transition went smoother because my husband and I were busy with his medical crisis. Is there still a place for the old mother at that family business table? I don't want the job of being the family dominator. I very much want the new mother to feel in charge of her family. Long as I get to smoke in the house on bad weather days????
When sorting through mushy dynamics like this, I find it helpful to sort my feelings from the facts. Methinks that is my goal for the day.
Let the sorting begin?

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

My art and craft closet is now up to my standards. Here, in an outside corner of our over-stuffed homestead, there is now room for expansion. There is now empty space to hold new materials and projects.
Feeling:
I need to keep it a secret. There is lots of clutter on the other side of the door looking for a place to belong.
I have no doubt in all seriousness that your burrowing right now is exactly what you need to do and that the sorting will be sorted cause you are a very strong woman. I just know these things and that is a fact. My feeling is that if you want to smoke in your own house on bad weather day you can, however my truest feeling is that you should quit smoking cause I know how bad it is for you and I've watched a lot of people I have loved died from it and I really truly don't want to lose you from it too cause although I haven't known you as long as some I really love you and what you give to all of us but especially me. Maybe. I should have saved this for private and maybe not cause there are a lot of your family here who would agree.
Let the sorting begin. Gentle love and support as you do.
Fact:
The weather is still to cold and mucky for my old bones to embrace on this tired day.
Feeling:
I sure wish the sky repair crews would get here!!! I want this messy weather fixed NOW!!!
Fact:
The success of Wednesday's procedure hailed the end of the four month job of nursing my beloved through his medical ordeal. Decades of contracting still have not given me an immunity to that disenfranchised feel of having worked myself to unemployment once again. As of this morning, I am working with a set of dynamics I have never worked with before: the 3 generation homestead. I don't even have a role model to follow.
Feeling
Uncertain and timid. Prayers in progress.
Is it okay to let this day be a brand new adventure?
Is how I feel with my PTSD, my life. I've got a spot in my yard I enjoy spending quiet time. Isolation for a bit isn't bad and sounds like that's what you are doing.
