My estranged spouse is a fmr combat vet with complex issues and PTSD. He was recently fired as a whistleblower and will be dealing with that in a hearing if we can make it there--but his issues have been manifesting in abundance since and he is drinking which fuels them and then triggers me because he reaches out to me incessantly and becomes verbally abusive if I don't agree. He harasses me by phone texts and calls. Tonight was really bad. I just don't think I can take it. Tonight I threw my phone down and ran out the door in my t shirt no jacket and it's cold but I just walked to clear my head.... I want to disappear. I am not ok. I am emotionally exhausted angry and scared honestly. Scared for him and how my nearly adult sons see being a man now. He wasn't always this... it has been getting progressively worse over the last ten years. Anyhow I am feeling very scared sad and alone and very triggered. My adrenaline is high even though I am tired and had asked him to let me go to bed four hours ago as I have been sick for a week now. I just needed to share with someone how not ok I am at the moment so I can try to be ok later if that makes any sense?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

sigh. . .
back here in that confusing time between naps --reality-- my five sisters and the five brothers, as well, are quite prone to the antics you describe from you ex. bother upon bother. in my current handling of the phenom, i employ evasive maneuvers when needed but work to keep the focus on healing the grief. fear, loneliness, etc., within my strictly personal skin. i don't get to change the ten sibs. i can heal the wounds inflicted by the family dysfunction.
but that is me and every case is unique.
steadying support while you find your way to okay.

Sorry he’s harassing you with texts and calls. I’m estranged from my family of origin because they used to do that to me a lot and it triggered me, too, like you’re getting triggered now. Then my now ex-wife was that way as well, and I had to sever contact with her in turn. It may not be possible for you to sever contact with this ex of yours who’s harassing you, but if it’s at all possible in any way I can tell you from my own personal experience that it makes a world of difference.
Meanwhile, you’re not alone here. We get it. Sending you support.
He eventually stopped drinking with help and everything else changed once he did
I hope that your husband will reach out for help... It's there if he will..... Another hug... xo
