I am cross posting this because I am not sure if it is part of depression or something else and I am not sure if others have experienced it.
Sometimes I feel numb. A lot of times I feel numb. I feel like I don't really care about anything or anyone. Feelings are permanent and will fade. I feel like I don't really care about things and activities that I used to care about. It isn't just being disinterested for the moment; it is feeling like it never meant anything to me to begin with.
Anyone else experience this?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Hugs.
You will get through it, just some days are harder than others. Best Wishes!!!
Appreciation and gratitude seem to be my best remedies. Looking for the good stuff keeps me from getting lost in the repetitious insanity.
You are not alone, Cecil.
But dissociating bothers me more. I got PTSD in childhood when I was raised in war and a broken violent home. By the time I was a teenager I was already an emotional burnout from too much trauma.
I'm not tempted to quit working on my PTSD recovery by flashbacks, bad as they are, and they do toss me around like a rag doll some days. It's that burnt out feeling of going numb from dissociating that takes the wind out of my coping sails. I come here to get motivation to keep going and not just end up dead in the water. If I do that, dissociating leads to depression, and a spiral down begins.
I'm sorry you're feeling this, but I'm glad you countered it by reporting it here so we could check ourselves about it and check back in with you. Let's help each other with this, ok?
A submarine would hum quietly right underneath that storm without a ripple. I imagine our glitter sub that way, Lilly. My flashbacks from PTSD have been stormy today, so it's great to imagine underwater progress forward without them.
They replied, "Someday, someone will need your help."
It gave me the strength to move forward, if even for that moment...
I've been through distracted times like that, too. You're doing well with it, imho. Stay connected with us here as you weather it until it passes. I forgot whether you've got a therapist or not. That helped anchor me to someone outside myself when I went through this, too. No, you're not alone. It sucks, but a real psychopath wouldn't be afraid of turning into one, so don't worry. We're here.
I hope this helps. Be well.
