Some of you may remember the sparrow with the wounded wing who spent most of the winter with me. She was so unhappy in that cage that I released her before the wing was fully healed. She was last seen hopping eagerly from captivity. I was guessing she would soon be cat food because she still could not fly.
She joined me for morning coffee today. I recognized her by the scar on her wing. Healing happens!
She sends her regards.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I felt like her coming to sit with me was the greatest honor of my life.
You, Leonard Cohen, saviors of birds. Good company, arfie!

I was reading about a man who made a bond with a crocodile he saved..............when he went to release it to a swamp...the croc followed him back...And they swim together and wrestle and croc never bites him..
while animlas are cared for they secrete oxytocin (bonding hormone).
So this morning a house wren started clinging and climbing frantically on the screen of my living room door. Weird, but... I needed to investigate a noise from the kitchen. There was another wren on the cabinet. He had flown in through a crack in the music room door. I had to widen the crack for him, but helping him find his way out was a gentle smile in my morning.
Love my bio-net! Best connectivity on the planet!
When I was a kid, I loved Cinderella. Wasn't too impressed with her prince. 5 brothers can put a damper on princely impressions. What blew me away was that this dame had birds and mice doing her chores for her. I am still trying to unlock her secrets.
I think I told you when you first set her free that you may never know the end result, but you could trust it was good. I really like that you got to have a peek at the next phase for her.
sometimes we buck the trends and good juju happens...guess i shouldn't be surprised it also plays out in the animal kingdom.
i love sparrows. they carry a LOT of mythology.
and i love people who love and rescue animals. :)
I raised a couple of baby squirrels one time--their mother had been shot by a hunter and I was lucky enough to find them after they'd left the nest in hunger but before something else found them. I called them Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm . . . I let them loose when they grew up and then Bamm-Bamm would come by and eat apples with me and visit.
It was an honor for me too, even if I knew it was mostly the apples.
