It's why I get up at 5 when I don't need to leave the house until 7. I hang out on PTSD until I wake up. I just need that me time for my brain to wake up. I could be doing other things, but I guess this is what I need right now.
I teach at 7:30, btw.
The rare times I get to bed before 9, I feel human when I wake up. Otherwise, zombie. Maybe I should try just getting up at 6 and get more sleep, but I like being downstairs in my house when my family's upstairs, sleeping.
I hope you can adjust to your Tuesdays very soon, Muji.
I do have to admit though by the third day ,Everything is either hilarious or heart wrenching, the hilarious part when it hits is a blast, I can not be serious about anything, Gertrude rules.
The fourth day is "Zombie day "almost to tired to sleep, if that makes sense. Fear and paranoia that I won't be able to wake up.
I have only been able to nap during the day when I have been ill, so no power naps for me, even if I am exhausted. As soon as I lay down, ding ding ding, I am wide awake.
You are not alone.
Oh by the way, Florida was wonderful. Little bumps but overall, a great time to decompress and "relax".
When I get tired i can't handle my emotions. I get jumpy, cranky, tearful, more easily overwhelmed.
Rest is so important. I hope you get plenty of it. Sleep like a babe floating in the clouds.
I'm feeling pretty good now at the end of the week, but every Tuesday I have that long 12 hour workday this semester until December, so any coping tricks are very welcome.
For me that is a whole lot of people and schedules to meet. The classes Monday night followed by Tues morn, and Friday night ending at 10 to Saturday morn At 9 am for 8 hours Two weeks of Thurs-Tues classes, with a swing schedule. Only Weds to breath
See-saw, Margery Dawe.
Trying to not think about it too much, but now my calender is screaming it at me! I take 3 or more hours of wind down just to sleep. That Holistic Stress Management will be done with no sleep, it being the only one, I am most worried about.
My Social anxiety is going to take a hit or two those weeks
Quick someone teach me to self hypnosis! Or "tired" will not even get close.
I went to bed at 9 last night. On a weekend!!! I didn't have caffeine past 9am yesterday and responded to my cue to sleep when I got tired. My son didn't wake me up and I didn't get up to pee (drank less water after 7 last night) and I woke up without an alarm feeling a little groggy, but mostly relaxed and refreshed.
I suggest doing whatever you can to get tired at a decent time and have a sound sleep.
I mean no disrespect to anyone, but if you have sleep apnea, many times, it's due to being overweight. If this is you, the good news is, if you lose weight, there's a very good chance your sleep will improve!
My husband lost about 50 pounds in a few months and guess what? His snoring stopped! Result? I get a better night's sleep, too!
Here's to making ZZZZs!
