Shadow75
I have CPTSD, I startle very easy, movement on TV, someone walking up to me, loud sounds. I jump when it happens. Does anyone else do this very very bad.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Hugs - I have no help to give. I didn't cure it, I just got physically broken.
But that is me.
Gentle support while you sort your own unique dynamics, Shadow. Welcome to the forum.
Healing hopes, Shadow. There is lots of discussion on healing strategies here. Hope some of them resonate with you.
The guy in a bad neighborhood who walked up on me fixing my car got a bit scarier reaction-I came up with the wrench very fast and battle-screamed at him.
Then, after a microsecond of looking at each other, we busted out laughing and apologized to each other. I looked in his eyes and he felt fairly okay.
I dunno, I didn't die 2 years ago because I reacted very fast to a truck coming the wrong way over a freeway overpass, in the fast lane, when I was doing 70 in the correct direction.
I was over in the slow lane breakdown lane AND STOPPED by the time the truck passed me. 2 seconds. In 2 seconds I did what I needed to do to survive.
So that startle thing...um, not always a bad thing, yanno.
Mine doesn't seem to be getting any better.
I solved the phone problem, Rizen...I turned off the bell. OK, not for everyone, I get that. All my calls were something negative, so now they're all cut off...LOL. I feel sooo much better without that thing going off every day. I tell people to send me emails when they want to get in touch.
When one door closes, another one opens. Don't spend so much time looking at the door that is closed that you miss the door that is open.
