Did I just blow things out of proportion?
FindingKatB
Today I went on FB to check out one of my best friend's page. I noticed that there was a picture, under his photography album and it looked so much like NYC.
Anyways, I sent him an old picture of us and asked him if we were still friends. He responded," yes". But then, I wrote onto him saying that I saw that picture and it resembled so much like NYC; did he come to nyc, when he said that he wasn't?I remembered I asked him specifically about it.
He is in the army and we havent seen each other for about 2 years. He is currently engaged to a girl and I find myself frustrated and upset because a part of me does like him; always did. I have been wanting to tell him the truth about everything now but it seems that maybe now is not the time. You can't want someone who is not yours; it's called coveting. We are best friends and we understand each other completely; suddenly, since my PTSD, it's like I now have the hardest time trusting who is who and whether my old friends are still my old friends.
He hasnt responded back to me and I am going in circles in my head wondering, " did i just blow this out of proportion?" Did I just risk our friendship?" " God, is this really happening to me?"
Best friends will always(usually) remain best friends. This time, I don't know about us. Am I wrong? Am I right? Talk to me ppl. Enlighten this soul...

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Also, I find email texting etc. a hard way to clear the air with someone about almost anything - too little context. Lesson learned the hard way.
If it takes that little to scare someone away, then hey that person might fall into the "fair weather friend" category. If is hard when friendships we value get abandoned, but have found that after respectful period of grieving am better w/ them gone.
These days you pretty much have to wear a neon declaration sign or I will simply AssUme I the information is not available. If I am meant to know, the information will be made available to me at the speed of life.
Nah, I wouldn't tell him at this stage. Too much like asking if we can celebrate the reunion with my vomiting in his lap.
I have never questioned my friendships until now. Ever since I known to have PTSD, i haven't realised how much it has affected me. What has grown in my heart is the envy of how they are moving forward with their lives and I have felt things slow down completely for me. I have finally admitted to myself and them that I have this.
In life, it is hard to find those friends that no matter how much time passes by, nothing changes. I have found that and my PTSD has been that thorn on my side and it makes me poke out everything to them. I guess this is a test on my friendships. I have always fought against time and now, I can't do that.
I grew up keeping daddy one step ahead of the law. Childhood bonding was not a part of my childhood conditioning. There is nothing about friendship that I can take for granted. To my senses, friendship is one of life's greatest mysteries.
Over the 30 odd years that my life has been stable enough to learn about this great mystery, I have become convinced it is a mystery to the folks who have the privileges of life long relationships as well. It is among the mystery most folks have never had to question deeply enough to fully understand. Like air to breathe. Why question what has simply always been there?
Welcome to the mystery. I try not to question life's mysteries. They are what they are. Understanding them is not the point.
Friendships are wonderful and I do value them deeply. Because of all that I have been through and endured, it made me question their loyalty and honesty to me. Ptsd doesn't come with a warning sign saying " be careful of this one, she has trust issues with her best friends".
There is a part in the Bible that talks about time and that each season has its reason( rhymes, lol): "There is a time for everything, and everything on earth has its special reason."- Ecclesiastes 3:1 This is of new understanding for me and learning to drill it in my head. I guess time has a way of working out by itself...
