You may have read my post a few days ago about dodging a bullet by recognizing an abuser before I could be abused....
Despite recognizing the red flags and feeling really hurt by what he said and did, I feel horrible bout breaking it off with him.
In the beginning I was so excited to be with him. He's a cutie, I'll tell you that. But at this point, that might be his only redeeming quality. After knowing him for years I did NOT see any of this coming and I really just feel like total crap. I miss him and that sucks.
I yelled at him after he argued with me and tried to make me think it was all my fault. I was twisting things, according to him. For me to yell at someone, I have to be REALLY pissed, and I was. I hate hurting others.. Almost to the point that I'd rather they hurt me. I know that doesn't sound healthy. I feel really conflicted and really sort of sad about this whole thing.
Having the courage to untangle yourself from a potential abuser is not even close to how hard it is when you're already being abused, but it has taken a lot of me to handle this and I'm burned out.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Then a few months ago he sent me an e-mail about how bad I hurt *him* and I was just banged up all over again.
You're not alone, truly not. This group soooo got me through that second round with the A-hole Ex-Friend---and we're here for you now.:-) Conflicted and sad is normal---it's a break-up.
Give yourself a special treat and get lots of rest. It really is emotionally exhausting.
Gentle healing,
Leo..
He's not a *potential* abuser; he was one, flat out.
I suppose you could have ran the other way after the first red flag to avoid the hurt, but I guess you had some faith in him and your long standing relationship. And cuteness can mask a lot of things...
Don't be hard on yourself; be hard on him. I'm here if you want to PM me since I have so much in common...
