Sunday is a day of rest for us and family time. With PTSD, Bipolar, OCD, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks and other conditions it is important to schedule time for relaxation to calm our symptoms. How have your symptoms been lately? What are you doing for relaxation or calming techniques? Please share to help other members.
Personally my anxiety has been at an all time high with all that's going on in my life. My heart has been racing, I have been shaking, sweating, all the symptoms of anxiety and PTSD. I have been scheduling time into my days lately for deep breathing, meditation and Tai Chi exercises. I have also been using my weighted shoulder wrap. All these techniques help me calm my symptoms.

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

I'm doing a huge 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle of butterflies. My cats are stealing pieces. This is making it rather less relaxing in one sense, but they're so funny when they take off with a piece and look at me like, "HAHHAHAHAHA!" and of course then I pet the cats! :-)
I also relax by watching sunsets and takin gwalks and reading favorite books that I know are feel-good books.
How about everyone else?
My therapist helped me learn to understand my own jumbled PTSD feelings by the "name that tune" method. I couldn't put words to my mixed up PTSD feelings, so he said "if you put a sound track to the scene you're describing, what song would you pick?" And so songs because to speak for me when I couldn't speak for myself.
Ever since, I've had this PTSD DJ in my head from my therapist, so that's helped me get through every day with songs. Right now I'm listening to Robbie Robertson of the Band and Bob Dylan fame because it's Sunday and he wrote an album about spirituality from his Native American heritage. I'm listening to the song "Testimony." Since I'm a "half breed" too, in my case an Anglo-Latino half breed born in the USA but raised in Mexico (and I miss not getting to fly to Mexico yesterday) these lyrics are mine, too.

"Bear witness, I'm wailing like the wind
Come bear witness, the half-breed rides again
In these hands, I've held the broken dream
In my soul, I'm howling at the moon
Testimony, testimony
Declare yourself, I will testify
Testimony, testimony
Speak the truth, I will testify"
