Kindness warms our hearts and helps relieve anxiety and stress not only for those receiving the act of kindness but also for those showing an act of kindness. Kindness is such a simple thing to give......words, a smile, a small gesture. Tell us an act of kindness that you were able to give or have received. Everyone needs some form of kindness at one time or another.
For me the kind words on DS from all of you has helped me to survive and cope with ongoing trauma more then you'll ever know. I try to show kindness everyday, whether that's baking cookies for my husbands office or buying someone a cup of coffee or just giving someone a smile.

Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

Then when I wish that for someone else, I just change the "I" to a "you":
"May you be filled with lovingkindness, may you be well, may you be peaceful and at ease, may you be happy."
And so on.
My flashbacks repeat my memories of trauma, so I figure repeating this meditation wish for good things plants the seeds of kindness for balancing things out a little.
Kindess back to you today, my friend.
I am not as evolved as Muji, alas, but I try.
As for kindness received? Every day, my hubby and I are kind to each other. We might *want* to be snappy, but... Take a breath, set that aside, open the ears and give a hug or whatever... It's just a moment. No need to have a lot of moments over essentially nothing that then ends up something for ... what? The fact we had some irritation for a moment and held onto it? No thanks. Grew up like that. Read Marriage for Dummies from the get-go.
Best specific kindness I have received lately, however, came from DS. :-)
I had a poster made to hang by my classroom that says "In a world where you can be anything.... be kind."
It's all the little gestures, the words spoken at the right times, the presence of just being there in the midst of a struggle... that is what DS folks have added to my life. I am extremely grateful.
