(I did have a childhood trauma with my aunt's dog biting me on the face; sorry if this isn't quite a usual post for this board) I had a fun time visiting friends at their home last night, but I'm a little bit concerned about their new dog. They love Great Danes and their beloved Dane that passed away is immortalized in a painting in their home that my friend painted (she is beautiful and a talented painter). So, I know the couple was very excited to find a rescue dog that is a pit bull and Dane mix, according to DNA test they had done. 

the dog is almost 100 lbs. at 9 months. He greeted me in a very friendly manner, but he was jumping on me too excitedly and I was close to falling down on their very steep driveway until my friend came and rescued me. He later told a story about the dog snapping at him when he had cornered it in his crate and said, "he would have taken my eye out if I hadn't turned my head." I'm not sure they used a crate with their other dog, a beautiful Belgian Shepherd. 

We did try some whiskey out and I started thinking about a breed of dog I'd read about after hearing it mentioned on TV, the dogo argentino. It was bred mainly from an extinct dog the Cordoba dog, probably the most dangerous dog that ever existed, and the Great Dane. It looks like a large Pit Bull, but other dogs like boxers and bull dogs were used in its lineage, not the pit bull. Dalmatians were also used, and my friend's dog has Dalmatian-like spots on his legs. The dogo argentino is banned in many countries and restricted in the UK. 

I'm wondering if this dog could actually be a dogo argentino or a mix and the DNA test wouldn't have been testing for this breed because it's rare in the US. I'm worried that he may be a bit more dangerous than my friends may realize.
