Current events are scary....

Hoping the pandemic comes to a halt and racism ends.... i haven't posted in a long time, but I'm not doing well this week.
After years of struggling with any writing that isn't poetry, I'm finally workshopping in a character development class. The teacher is a published author of two novels, and it's been very frightening to zoom with someone I admire. I had to get drunk on the night of my story workshop just to be able to do it. I'm really struggling with the viewpoint that only minimalistic prose is valid, but the author at least agrees with me about the dubious talents of Dan Brown. I do need to work on my dialogue and dig deeper, and I'm grateful for the help and feedback. I didn't like one of my classmates calling my language "florid and disdainful" but it also means that I successfully described my mad scientist character in all his insane glory.... I'm still struggling with nightmares and insomnia and take a nighttime concoction of substances, namely one dose of Zzquil and Excedrin PM with a handful of melatonin gummies every night. Add to that Klonopin on really bad nights. I reduced my PMs from four a night to just two, but can't seem to cut down any further...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It would be odd I think if we didn't feel it
I've been struggling with sort of a high depression for quite some time
I would be careful with taking too much Melatonin ... It's naturally in the body and can have a rebound effect.... My pdoc told me he went to a conference about it and it works better at a low dose... So less is more
Taking too much may be one of the reasons that you aren't sleeping
It's nice to see you back.... xo
And taking too much melatonin on a regular basis can cause rebound insomnia, meaning not only doesn’t the melatonin work anymore, but it can actually make your sleep problems worse. So the short answer to the question is, no, you can’t overdose on melatonin. But you can have some very unpleasant side effects if you take too much
Deep breathing from the lower belly can help relieve the flight or fight response we feel during extreme stress or anxiety. Relaxation techniques such as meditation, gentle exercise, soft music and activities you find calming can also help. Grounding can help distract anxious thoughts. Below are some helpful links. I hope you feel better soon. Wishing you serenity and peace.
