A recurring theme in my healing journey is whether our quest for The Norm is encouraging us to cure some of our greatest gifts. At present, I believe I am making peace with the horror of my trauma flashbacks. As my comfort level with remembering grows, I find I am able to relive a beautiful event in as much vivid, full-sensory detail as I remember the traumatic events. I find myself in danger of gratitude that I never found a cure.
Another example would be hyper-vigilance. Vigilance is both natural and beneficial. There are real world dangers to be reckoned with. Instead of curing my vigilance, I trained the hyper out of it.
Again, I am not sure what I am reaching for or if I am even making sense. Thoughts? Reality checks? Off-color jokes?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
i like the thought~
especially because the further along I get on this journey the more I come to the reality the "curing" is unrealistic.
triple hugs
bringing a book or something to do for the times I have to wait for something helps me not worry about what I can't be doing.
Let the good memories rule...

This year I've come to terms with my nightmares in a new way, and have found myself having good and happy dreams to an extent I haven't experienced since I was a child. There's a yin/yang to this healing process, it seems.
