CKD Pain From PTSD Meds Got Me Today

mujicaptsd2
As y’all know, a bad doc overprescribed me
Seroquel for PTSD nightmares. I ended up
with permanent Chronic Kidney Disease.
Today I had a LOT of CKD nerve damage pain
all day, no matter what I did. I've had
it for years in both legs because when
your kidneys don't deliver enough oxygen
to nerves the ones that die first are
the ones in your extremities. That's
why I walk in with cane, as I don't
feel my legs from the knee down.
Now the nerves in my right arm have
begun to die, too, with shooting pain.
No position, no Tylenol, nothing made
any difference. I never found a
comfortable position for a few minutes
all day long. Twice it hurt so much
that it brought tears to my eyes.
As the day ends I find myself asking
for support for tomorrow, which
I hope will be a new and better day.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

HUGS and HUGS.
steadying support while you ride the wave.
The ban of all drugs except for Tylenol has been in effect from all docs (general practitioners, my bariatric weight loss surgeon, neurologists, renal specialists, actually good psychiatrists, dermatologists). As they predicted, my CKD pain is getting worse, as I said.
That's why I'm here for support. I've chosen to attempt to live with the CKD without the dialysis I was offered. In my years as a hospital chaplain, I was assigned to visit the dialysis unit to support patients. I NEVER ONCE met a patient there among the hundreds I spoke to who was glad they'd accepted doing dialysis. To the contrary, they were miserable because it was like a half time job taking up 20 hours a week of their lives.
Once you start, though, stopping may kill you, and I actually had to be the hospital's legal witness signing off on the "Against Medical Advice" forms some patients put in place as they did quit and went off to wait to die. I took my cue from witnessing their decision face to face, then, in my own decision not to begin dialysis when my own kidneys became damaged by a bad psychiatrist's administering me too much Seroquel. So far I'm sticking with my no dialysis decision though I'm flexible about that should I want to change my mind.
Thanks, Leo, for the zostrix suggestion. I'll bet since that's topical it'll probably me kidney safe. Yay!
I know, arfie, PTSD is chronic and CKD is chronic, too. They're the worst in my book, too. Thanks for the support riding this wave out because you're accurate in describing it as such. In the 14 years that I've had CKD it HAS come in waves indeed. The thing is that the waves are worsening in getting bigger and more frequent to surf.
Thanks for your support. It helps a LOT, truly.
Aspirin is a totally different medication... It might be worth having a conversation about it..... You really suffer and it might help???? ... xo
Anyway, today I had a lot of CKD fatigue as my body doesn't get all of the oxygen it needs, but I still made it outside to beat my 1 km daily walking goal walking 1.17 km. I'm still not in a wheelchair like I was last year, this year I'm still standing. YAY!
