I am sorely confused this morning. My flight instincts are in full swing, but giving in to them doesn't feel right. Went through two car wrecks a few weeks ago with no physical injury but the automotive addictions are in full swing since my car went into the shop last week. Had a deal to buy my landlord's macho wagon (SUV), but it turns out the vehicle is haunted and she is renegotiating like a woman in love. Don't even want to go there.
My middle aged son who still can't buy, much less maintain his own toys is beating up on my husband for the toy of his choice. At our expense, of course. Another place I don't even want to go. The woman with the haunted macho wagon is already more than I can handle.
The father-in-law with two cars he can't drive wants a ride from Houston to Dallas to attend the 99th birthday party of his young-at-zipper buddy. 5 hours each way. I have the time, but...
I am remembering that most world travellers don't own cars. We still don't have inter-continental highways. My husband likes it when I drive because he at least knows I am on this continent. I am having dreams of this mass transit to that mass transit until I am in China or...
Just venting...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
as to old men with young libidos.... and young men with automobile issues... ick and icker!
vent away!
Yeah, nostalgia for mechanical failure.... hmmmm.... nah. No thanks!
San Antonio is named for Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of lost souls and things... Wondering... Maybe losing "It"...
Also it still doesn't make sense that I spend more on maintaining my car than I do on myself.
The deal with my landlord was for the sake of the two men who are now in the vehicular dance this female dog wants no part of. Might've worked if she hadn't started re-negotiating the deal.
Now... Beam me up Scotty. There is no intelligent life down here.
You are right, Alan. My year and a half in South America was far, far cheaper than my two bitch camp site, and it's an "economy" car. Down in South America, folks routinely pay more for their cars than they pay for their houses.
This tree hugger just isn't getting the logic. Vent vent...
I'm with you, Arfie. The money spent on cars, between fuel, reparis, the up-front costs.... then the nickel-dime-death-phase.... ugh, argh, ick, why? Honestly, the only reason Mom has a car still is her perceived independence. I say, not being able to drive due to epilepsy? Hidden blessing. Third-generation enivro-nut.
I would like a mixed-fuel-source vehicle if we can afford one, but....
We'll see.
Vent away.... I still don't get why people insist on having lush green lawns and swimming pools when living in desert climates. Seriously? No logic there for me at all. Waste of water at best! My back yard at least is all native plants that survive whatever Virginia throws at them in the way of climate.
I live in fear of something happening to my Toyota with 138,000 miles on it.
Vent away. Vent all night and all day but do not drive those 2 men anywhere. Ick and double ick.
Maybe trade driving them to their destination in trade for use of one of the cars...but only if you can tolerate the ick factor. Tell then no stops at strip clubs on the way.
