Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

My parents saved the front page of the paper from the day I was born. (Mid 1960's, central part of the United States...not New York or California.)
There was pair of couples that had been having a "Strength Contest". These weren't young kids. Both couples were upper 20's or 30's. They were testing each other to see who could drink more alcohol and take more pills. It ended up in the paper because one or two of them died (I can't remember) and the others ended up in the hospital.
I'm just going to say...people were always crazy...
Go figure. . .
I don't see the world as it is. I see the world as I am.
First of all, I've been on this site for a very short time and I am here myself for support as well. This early on, one thing that got my attention was how most questions or many people's suffering was approached. I mean, we are on a site called "Daily Strength" and I genuinely believe that probably more than 90% of comments/answers are written with good intentions. And if I haven't been through my own suffering, I would be writing answers and showing "support" like the ones that have been making me sigh.
When one is under great stress or in an emotionally not so good place, immediately trying to show them that the glass is also half full does not work. On the contrary, it hurts! That is why it is something that I am paying great attention to. Whenever someone says something that is bothering them, or making them very upset, I am hearing them, empathizing with them and other than immediately trying to "change" their statement by saying things such as; "Nah, it is nothing/it cannot be that bad/there are people with bigger problems/what you are saying is wrong and here is some examples to prove it", I am trying to let them know that I have a listening ear.
As I have mentioned earlier, I am not an expert. All I know is, when I am hurt by something/someone and if I have not allowed myself to feel it and even acknowledge it, everything that triggers a similar emotion in me seems darker and pessimistic. I don't know if you've heard the saying, what you focus on grows. When in a better place, I hardly recognize things that would have bothered me if I was down. When I came to a place in my life when nothing seemed good, happy, joyful I also caught myself how I was labeling almost everything as bad. By nature (abusive childhood) I have been so trained to focus my attention on everything but myself. When I ended up living the carbon copy of my childhood as an adult, I entirely gave up on myself. All I cared was my surroundings, other people, who said what, why would he do that etc. I have been so sensitive to other people's emotions and moods all my life, I became painfully hyper-vigilant. This led me to pick up on mostly the negative stuff around me and it made my vision of life darker and darker.
Well, I just wanted to share with you how my mood, ignored feelings and unattended needs painted my world. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to open up through such a short but deep message you posted.
I think in general it's true that we're in an era in society in which folks are meaner. Something to do with the effect of social media on our manners and civility. Hang in there, we're with you.
honestly arfies comment you know it was hurtful, as if it was making it seem like i'm the mean and crazy ones not the people who really are lashing out at me in worse ways than ever. i mean i thought that "we see the world as we are" self help stuff was mostly a sham. anyway i only was talking about how hard it is getting treated so badly which got even worse when angel, my fav. celeb died.
its bad enough having super toxic parents especially dad
It has a hold on my thinking and actions that it causes me to isolate myself from people. My family is worried about me, but I try to change but it's hard.
I even tried getting help, but all they did was hand me pills,
I also alienated my friends and prefer to be alone instead of hanging out.
It was so bad that I was thinking of either shoot myself or as I almost did slash a vein and was caught in the act. I was admitted that night.
I still have a lot going on emotionally that the county send a policeman to do a
check in because of my father also suffer from the same and they afraid that
he might harm us or himself and vic versa with me.
