I am not having a good day. I am trying to take is easy on the pain meds as I used too much earlier this week and I am in danger of running out - so I am in wrenching pain hanging out around 8/9 with spikes up to 10. That would be enough to keep me mostly in bed (though sitting hurts less than laying down), but my life can't be that easy...
I keep trying to pack. I have to get out of this house before it kills us.... this stresses out my back and my emotions. I have taken three naps today - though actually only slept once.
Hubby has been lethargic all day. I should have caught it sooner. He is going down with a case of cellulitis. It is not life threatening as long as we catch it early - and he did. He has been known to run a fever as high as 108 for up to 4 days when we did not catch it in time. He will be ill and in bed for several days... feeling like crap, but we might have caught it soon enough he might not run a fever.... I hope. And I am feeding him my pain meds as we can't afford to buy him his own... so I will have to go on half doses for the rest of the month.
So now he is in bed, and I am alone in the living room. I should try to pack, but it will hurt and I have no way to stop the pain.
I don't like being alone as I don't like to listen to my own thoughts. I now have at least three days of just me, interspersed with getting him things. He is a lousy patient so there will be yelling and tears.
I am talking to my daughter who is 900 miles away on facebook, but no sense making her worry. She is all excited about a new job.
I just want to go numb....

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Be gentle and tolerant with yourself. Keep stepping. Small steps can add up in a hurry. You can do this!!!!
I am going to hand up the load of jackets I had washed and start a sleeping bag to wash. Then I am heading to bed... I will deal with tomorrow, tomorrow.

It is imperative that you know the signs of it.... Hubby gets lethargic, snappy, then COLD. If we don't start treating before he gets hysterically COLD we are in for a three or four days hospital stay. His doctor did a culture years ago to find out exactly what infection is in his system - and low and behold it stems from contamination from my horses. But this means he is on the correct antibiotic. We keep a 10 day supply on hand at all times, not just the script, as when he starts to get ill we don't have time to go fill a script. The sooner he is on massive doses of antibiotic the sooner he gets better.
He has had an episode two or three times a year for the last 10 years... We have been told that if he looses 200lbs it will happen less, but weight loss is stressful and sends him into another episode...
Last night his fever his about 102, nothing scary, just enough to make his life miserable - and to terrify me. I would be so lost without him...
I have to pull it together today and pack. We have to get out of this house
