Would you feel OK explaining why your brother was arrested? Why you ex-wife is invested on his behalf? Reading your pain so clearly is difficult because of my PTSD. But you need to know that you are not alone and you are heard. Please know that you are heard in your agony and you are not alone. Again I'm so sorry. May peace come to you.
If you think back over the last couple months you may see how you are not so much destroyed as liberated. If the cycle has ended, well it wasn't a cycle you rightly needed to bear.
Stay strong and know I am wishing you a calmer future.
You sound like you have been caught in the middle. This will be difficult and there will be some push back, but I think you need to set some boundaries of what is acceptable and what is not. People will not be use to this type of thing from you at first and they push back, but hold firm. You need to cut this crap out so you can get well and stay well.
Take care of yourself and stay strong. We are to support you even if your family is not. We understand.
Diana: Overwhelmed sounds about right. This will be a Christmas to remember for a long time.
To make this clear, I do not feel comfortable talking about why but I can explain briefly. My brother got in the middle of a conversation that he was not supposed to; he kept poking around with his words, and there, we got into a fight. Did physical damage to my bedroom door.
Ex-wife: kids are involved.
Letitbe: as righteous your words ring to me( and true), there's a huge disconnect btw your words and my brain. A part of me is like, " wat? wait, is this truly over?" yet another is," i hope he suffers", yet another"(......)", you get it. It has not hit me yet. Strong is what I need to have; you guys are my "strong".
CC: oh CrazyCanuk! Sighhhhhhhh. They are blinded by their own ptsd that they don't want to accept my own changes; as highly severe and noticable they are. U r right: this does not help me heal whatsoever.
The time has come. This is no longer acceptable. As this advances, I know I am only as strong as I think I am. I will need your guys' help.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Dear Lord, have mercy!
i was unconscious an all that an nobody knew who i was even when i was found, i had nothing but trouble ever since.
actually i had this minister going i was this that trying to get out of
the abuse level i had recieved, but yea they blame you for what others did. i noticed the way they try to destroy too. it easy to say i hope it gets better but i hope it does tho it may not be much help and i dont know whats happened obviously. but hugsss anyway xxxx
Of course right now you feel the swirl of the past and the future possibilities all mixed up together. It's like you are just taking your first step out of a burning building. It natural to feel just like you do now.
We may try and lend you encouragement, but YOU are your STRONG. Look forward, protect yourself, and Know you are not the fire department and it is alright for you to let 'that building burn'. Stay clear of it.
Hugs
I haven't changed them. Today I got an unwlecome toxic letter from my dad 37 years after I left home at 17 that shows that, he hasn't learned a thing. I just threw it away like all the others. My family has scapegoated me ever since by voting with my feet I proved I didn't need to be addicted to their drama any more. But only my opinion counts with me, and the fact that I'm living in peace and able to write and support you today is the truth that matters. Be strong for yourself.
You guys give me what I need as friends and a support group. You r right- I am my own strong. The building hasn't hit the ground yet...
Mujica: sorry for that experience. I don't know if its my liberation as much as it is separation. Your father reminds me of my mom. i done believe they will ever get the picture and really look at it for what it is: wrong.
Right now, I have hit the exhaustion level and I look like a dead zombie. Whatever it is called, its costed me almost everything. Just the beginning of life-long journey...
Hugs, lots of hugs
Violet
Undeserved rejection is certainly painful. BUT, wouldn't you choose the path of rejection over the path of continuing abuse -any day?
Going one's own way is not easy. Initially one feels quite lost, but for me it eventually brought a sea of calm that allowed me to later marry and create a loving functional family.
I am grateful for the changes I made in my life, distancing and creating much different, loving relationships.
But I am saying not to deny feelings. It is normal to grieve rejection from our families. Sometimes I think we don't allow ourselves to feel and grieve. Even though it is best to get away from an abusive mother, it is ok to grieve that our mother was not loving.
Kat has shared she is experiencing profound rejection by disowning. I'm acknowledging and supporting her grief with that.
We are both concerned w/ Katb's welfare. No need for the 2 of us to split hairs
the best to you
