Last week I was in Walmart waiting in the women's section for my Mom to come in. As I was waiting I came upon the swimwear section. While dreaming about how nice it would be to fit in some of them, a young man came from behind and grabbed my breasts squeezing them twice. My automatic reaction was to turn and punch him, which I did. His girlfriend saw the whole thing and was laughing. Security was called and I became the aggressor. I tried to tell my side but kept being knocked down.
That is when I made Walmart go back and review security tapes. It was all on there he attack. He was arrested with a sexual offense. I am now scared to go anywhere. I never heard him come up behind me. I no longer trust my instincts. I just want to curl up and die. Is this really what the rest of my life will be like.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
You would be completely justified in getting a lawyer in your area who works on contingency (you pay nothing, and your legal fees would be paid by the party you sue) and sue Walmart for a lot of money so that they won't let their security guards attack the victim of such a crime again.
Just a personal opinion: I think security guards are some of the lowest scum on earth, and I have had many bad experiences with them myself as a law-abiding person.

But, no, this is not what the rest of your life will be like. Healing happens.
heal well, proudaunt. Sorry you had to endure this.
hopefully the judge makes an example of him and throws the book at this caveman hard. yuck!!!
What would the police have rather you done? Nothing? That's rediculous.
I dont know a lot about fighting against the police but maybe there is some channel to go through to report the cops behavior. The effectiveness would really depend on their higher ups, but its better to try.
Really though focus on what you need to do to feel secure. Walmart is one of those almost unavoidable places (unavoidable that is without significant effort at least around here). Try not to let those two stinking kids and their actions take that away from you. I know easier said than done. Maybe something that could help would be to remind yourself how many times you go out and nothing happens. Breathing excersizes? You get where Im going with this.
Sorry you are in this situation. I dont know any woman who would be ok with that happening.
Criminal Sexual Assault, plain and simple.
Which is far and away bad enough.
The rest .... is the savage unfairness of blaming the victim, minimizing the situation, and pushing us further down into our holes.
Is this what the REST of your life will be like ??
No. Almost certainly not.
But it sure feels like that, right now, doesn't it ??
Which .... is yet another reason why we're all here.
I applaud your response. You did NOT "curl up and die," and you DID bring in the authorities.
You did good. You did REAL good.
May some part of this process, at SOME time, help restore YOUR sense of strength, of power, of control.
I'm so sorry this happened to you, but I'm so proud of you for how you handled yourself.
Now, the task is for you to be proud of yourself, take CARE of yourself, and see this thing through, the best way you can.
Gentle (and only TOTALLY appropriate) hugs......
Wegmans is my grocery store
take care and be proud of yourself
i try to avoid walmart....especially at night.
there have been no arrests yet to my knowledge.
sorry this happened to you. :/
Walmart sent me a beautiful card with the kindness words. They apologized for it ever happening and that I was questioned. They included a $250 gift card and got a call from company VP. This is a great Walmart wonderful friendly service in good neighborhood.
