Apartment search off to a bad start
I mentioned here this past week that my rent had suddenly been upped by 1/3, so I'm looking for another place. It's not going well since it has to be on the ground floor due to my Chronic Kidney Disease's nerve damage to my legs and the fact that I have a dog.
Today I went to see a promising apartment but when I got there the landlady had double-booked showing it. There was a family of 8 there to see it, too, and the landlady basically ignored me and ended up renting it on the spot to them.
Hoping for better apartment hunting tomorrow. Sorry if because of the hunt I'm not online here during the day as per usual.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

continued support while you work it through.
wandering wonder
you were looking to make an apartment big enough for a family of 8 into a bachelor pad? my mind is boggling a bit over that logistic.
I saw a place this morning, but it was built such that I couldn't move my air conditioner from the bedroom in the place I'm in now to the bedroom in that place, so no way. I hate to be a big baby about it, but this 65 year old fella can handle the Mexican heat during the day fine, but when it comes to night time and sleeping, not so much.
I have enough to handle about sleep with my PTSD insomnia. I'd have no business trying to fight that AND the heat at night. So I passed on it.
I'm starting to think I may have to swallow the sudden 1/3 rent increase. Gulp. Oh, well. I'm blessed as to what a fine apartment it is, so I'd just tell myself to appreciate it 1/3 more, then.
I've got a good place. Thanks for supporting me through figuring this out.
another thing i get from this policy is a deeper awareness of the community i am living in. there is always something new to learn on that score.
Sending you a huge hug of support while your search continues.... xo
