Anxiously awaiting medication kidney damage test
I have kept a lid on my anxiety up until now, but today I get 6 month test results to see the extent of my kidney damage from diabetes meeting my too high dosage of Seroquel. I'm on Prazosin now, which is processed by the liver and not the kidneys, to stop the progress of the damage. But it is extensive, it's stage 4 out of 5 as far as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) goes, and my local kidney doctor ordered me to do dialysis. ]
If I were to do that I would be dependent on it for half a day 3 times a week and could no longer teach full time, which I want to doa until July 1, 2021 to reach being 100% vested in my pension plan after 40 years of teaching. So I got a second opinion from a kidney doctor at a bigger medical center an hour away, and that's the result I'm waiting for today. His office promised to call me this afternoon.
My local kidney doctor and the second opinion kidney doctor from the bigger medical center both agree that I have lost 60% of my kidney function permanently. They just disagree with what to do about the 40% kidney function I have left. My second opinion kidney doctor said I can stay away from dialysis if I adjust my lifestyle to being able to have energy from only 40% of my blood toxins being cleaned from my kidneys and my oxygen being injected into my bloodstream less than half as much as usual.
I work full time teaching at my community college with only 40% of the energy I used to have now that I only have 40% kidnedy function, and then I also lead two local churches as my part time job. So I haven't adjusted my work lifestyle, I've lost 110lbs and and adjusted my social life instead. Not adjusting my work lifestyle and going over 100% at working full time and part time, too, has meant I'm really tired a lot.
I'm tired today. I'm hoping to get a good creatinin level from my blood tests, though, to tell me I'm safe from dialysis still. When I was a chaplain I got called to sit with patients and hold their hand through dialysis, so I know it well. I want to stay away from it from what I saw repeatedly with patients going through dialysis. I was there when some of them holding my hand asked me to get them the forms to sign to stop dialysis and waive any lawsuits with the hospital so they could quit dialysis and die, and they did. That's why I'm anxious for good reason, I've seen this up close.
Please offer up prayers or good thoughts for me to get a good creatinin level result that will show my kidneys are ok enough for me to avoid dialysis. Thank you.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Praying for you.
Thanks for your support. I don't get wound up about these kidney checkups until the night before, but then I do because I signed legal paperwork notarized by an attorney saying there will be no dialysis for me even if refusing it could be fatal. Just my choice. Glad I don't have to refuse it at all. :-)
