If the world listened to author reviews, The Nutcracker Suite would never have been published, much less turned into a Christmas classic. Tchaikovsky thought it was the worst thing he'd ever written.

I think it reads like a song lyric, like Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven, the song of grief after the accident that took his child's life. Pretty high compliment from my point of view. Match it with a melody, maybe? There's something there I relate to, anyway.
