Ok, we trauma survivors know people suck. We get it. And not just people who wear "suck" signs like gangsters or junkies. People who wear "you can trust me" signs and costumes to match can really suck. Ministers (one got me), moms (one got me), siblings (one got me), military officers (one got me)...yadda yadda the list goes one. We know.
But today I have to put on the record living proof that ALL 100% of people don't suck I was trying to dig my car out of a waist high snow drift when a young woman in her twenties came by with a shovel.
She dug out my car. She dug a path for my car from the driveway to the snow plowed portion of the road. I tested it by driving to it and back. It worked. I'll be able to drive to work tomorrow. That's when I went back in my house and got all the cash I had in my wallet. It was only $28. She took it. I expected her to leave.
No. For no extra money, she proceeded to shovel through the snow and make a path from my car to my apartment's front door for me, too.
All right. Now I'll admit it. Even though my PTSD may insist, not ALL people suck. That one sure didn't
Gratitude time.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Hm-m-m-m-m. . .
Me hyper-vigilant? Don't know what you are talking about. The world is just full of crooks and deceivers. . . Too bad everybody can't be as perfect as me.
Seriously...
Let's hear it for helping one another through the drifts.
I also wonder if people with trauma (me) have a sign on their head that pshycopaths read quickly? Wonder if there is a body language or quick facial expression.
(A person who is raped once statistically has a 72 percent chance to be rapped again.)
The good people that see this, just offer compassion...the others take advantage as they feel low resistance as in we check out? Just thinking
So I make sure to take note of people who really, truly, don't suck.
Like a wonderful unicorn sighting or catching a leprechaun, huh?
Why? Because that's exactly what I think most of the time.
I hope the snow has let up for you by now Muji and that you are safe and warm.
I think we often miss the good stories and the negative ones get so much attention. Thanks for sharing and hoping you are doing okay.
