I am starting a 10 week therapy group through the Veteran's Administration this morning. I have a PR sheet on it, but I am resisting the temptation to read it again. Over my decades of such therapies I have yet to gain accurate expectations from the write ups. I seem to do better if I show up with minimal expectations and let the program evolve of its own accord.
Just burning time until it is time to go.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
We did one little exercise where each of us took a clipboard and imagined it as our issues. We then held it in front of our faces and discussed what it did to our fields of vision. The group leader then asked a volunteer to put a hand on one side of the board and push as hard as possible while the group leader pushed from the other. The leaders chair rolled backwards while the committee's wrist grew tired. They then pushed against one another with less force and the clipboard did a dance in odd circling motions between them.

Trust me, I have read many articles on this technique...Easier said then done however....But I still try to use it, especially when I am right in the middle of severe attack....
I now check my blood pressure when I am really having trouble. It just shoots off the scale but my blood pressure goes back to normal after I have come out of it for a few days.
I personally believe this syndrome is primarily a medical condition affecting our brains. a chemical imbalance in our brains caused by damaged neurotransmitters...
If only some one could discover an effective way to repair this damage...We can only hope.
