'Tis the season. The Back-to-School displays are all up. The community energies are amping up for a Academic New Year.
At present, there are zero students in my life, but I am still feeling the buzz. A couple of decades for my personal education plus another couple for getting sons through theirs equals allot of conditioning to head for the starting line.
Anybody else feeling the Academic New Year?

Son has new shoes and socks and a couple new t-shirts (everything else fits and is in good shape), daughter has 2 new shorts, 3 capris (she's never really worn them before), and a single new pair of pants that I need to hem. She's also got new underwear. Her new glasses are ordered and will be ready next week. Son got his haircut, she still needs her's cut.
So graph paper, pick up glasses, hem a pair of pants, and get one hair cut...and I'm done.
On the strictly academic front, he's got his math pack done, both have been watching shows in Spanish over the summer (the foreign language they're both taking) and my daughter has been doing Blue Math(?) over the summer.
Truly, thank you for bringing this up in our safe place. You'd think that after leading classes since 1980 it would be old hat, but the social anxiety needs processing every time, and you made that possible for me here just now. Again, thanks.
So strange how differently we all react to all this, isn't it?
...oh yeah order more Clairol!!!! hahhah!
