A heavy weight which pins me to my bed.
Hello everyone,
This is my first time on a site like this -in fact, I have never been on any group site at all.
Basically, I am having a terribly bad day. I can't get out of bed, even though my constant companion who I love dearly ( my dog ) needs a walk. What a dreadful dog owner I am.
Also, for the last 18months, I have been running, which made me feel strong and brave, especially as I am scared to go outside ( especially without my dog). Yet, now, I am not only going as a result of bursitis in my knee but simply because I can't move from my bed and have no desire to be a part of the outside world.
I foolishly believed that I was improving ( I'm back on Bi-polar meds ) however, this time of year triggers terrible memories of the violent, sexual street attack that happened to me. The fact that I have to live in close proximity to where it took place does not aid my recovery, although, at the time of moving I was grateful to have a roof over the head of my daughter's and my head.
It becomes dark so early, which is problematic considering I never go outside in the dark.
Anyway, I'm feeling better for sharing. I wish I hadn't cut myself last night though.
Thank you, Cyber friends x

Hiya My internet is changing today and I'm not sure how long the switch over will take, I'm hoping 24 hours at the most, but I'm probably being too optimistic We are changing to another company and going full fibre for the internet. But at least it's changing to the one payment rather than the payment for the home landline phone and a payment for the internet. So I'm not going to be on here...

Name something you hated as a kid that you love as an adult.

Purrs from the puma
Keep posting, it helps to let it all out and we're always here to listen:)
I will buy the UV lamp and you're right, Leo, I feel brave enough to go into the countryside. Although, it took me some time to have the confidence to drive too. Then after having found my 'safe place' my little dog was attacked by a pit bull, I ended up with stitches in my thumb after prising its jaw open to save her. So, even the countryside scares me now, but for different reasons ( the safety of my dog.)
Anyway, all I am doing is wallowing in self pity! Thanks to you two and this site, I am going to brave the nasty urban street where I live!
Also, Pag.mars, I'm afraid that I cannot afford to get any therapy. Although I was fortunate enough to have six free sessions with a rape and sexual assault charity.
Thank you both again, you have made me feel better.
X
Have a lovely day too
Self-care if you can't manage therapy.... Youtube has awesome meditation and calming videos, and of course, ask us:-)
BTW, the tabasco squirter works on darn near anything if you get near its eyes. It's essentially spicy pepper juice in vinegar with salt. Great on French fries, awful on anything else, IMO!
You were very brave to save your dog:-)
I just bought some extra hot tobasco sauce and some chilli powder to mix up!
I really wanted to get some pepper spray or mace but it's illegal to carry it here - mind you, who would know?
I'm sorry to hear about your dog attack, Wanda. The owners of this dog did nothing, their dog jumped up on me and Pulled my doggie from above my head ( where I had quickly held it after seeing it run towards us). There are quite a few dog owners who have no control over their dogs. I hope you and your dog are feeling better now. Perhaps we have a special bond with them now.
Thanks again everyone, you have made me feel more positive than I have felt on such a long time. X
