80th semester of teaching starts tomorrow
mujicaptsd
I'm 62, and I started teaching at 22, so 2 semesters in 40 years of teaching means tomorrow I start my 80th semester.
Man, I'm tired! I'm not tired of teaching, I'm physically tired because a psychiatrist overprescribed Seroquel for my PTSD nightmares and I got 60% kidney damage. That means I only get 40% of the oxygen in my blood for energy to use for my full time job, so I'm running out of steam. If not, I'd keep on working, but at 62 I can take early retirement.
Support welcome as tomorrow I begin this final countdown of 116 days until I can retire....

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

You should be very proud. Your students over the years were so lucky to have had you to shape their lives.
Can't wait to hear of all you are doing in your retirement.
Now is the well deserved time for rest and for you to live out your dreams.
I hope that there will be good news when you see your kidney doctor next week.... You are in my prayers..... Another hug.... xo
Bendicion (a Puerto Rican blessing)
& lots of support,
Proud of you friend
Big hug <3
The 80th and last semester begins......
I went to my coworker and got things sorted out for live streaming classes on Monday. My whole life staff and administrators at schools have been worse than worthless. If you wanted to get anything done, you went to a peer instructor.
It never hurts and I hope it helps...
Gentle hugs
Fortunately, I'm a pro, so when I bolted upright at 7am this morning and realized I'd gone to bed last night without planning to preach today, I found I had gotten everything ready before Christmas when I thought I'd be spending the holidays in Mexico. Whoa! Close call. The congregation saw me do fine, they all liked my sermon except one usual church lady who was snotty about it afterwards, unaware that I nearly didn't make myself available to be the target of her snark at all. As she let me know what was wrong with my sermon I couldn't help smiling to myself at what she didn't know--how close I came to missing giving it entirely.
So Tuesday I have my second doctors' appointment, and I hope things settle down from then on some. I have grown a little mass that has me thinking I may need a biopsy to see if I had a benign tumor or not, so I'll be mentioning that in this week's appointment and that may lead to another for a biopsy. We'll see. Here's hoping I can teach live streaming tomorrow without my computer crashing, too.
Thanks for your prayers, I need them to start this week!
