I can smell a rapist from a mile away I think
We are all hypervigiliant (PTSD-ers) - not all of us have such clarity of vision and confidence. I'm jealous.
You might like to see a T.V. series called 'Lie To Me' which uses the lastest science to portray how much can be read by even the smallest signals.
I liked Lie to Me too, but I'm afraid they cancelled it...so no more episodes here in the US. Maybe there are reruns on cable or online. I thought of it as mostly fantasy, but maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.
The researchers who uncovered the brain changes that take place in abused children have speculated that these changes could be an adaptation that allows humans to survive desperate times by producing a different kind of human...one better suited to a hostile, very challenging environment like the aftermath of some huge geological event.
I find myself intensely aware of my neighbors and constantly on guard against possible threats to my safety. I can see that most other people just do not live this way...and I envy their complacency sometimes. But we'll have the last laugh if civilization collapses as some are predicting it will eventually...not really a comforting thought, I know.
This could all be part of a process of transformation for humanity...life becoming more stressful, children being abused and neglected, those children growing up to become vigilant, distrustful. It could be the same process that happened when the Mayan and Aztec civilizations collapsed, the Roman Empire fractured, etc.
