Hey, in my college teaching career what you say about committees has been proven over and over. The smartest people I know just go mentally blank when seated around a table and called to order as a committee. It's a sight to behold.

Arfie....I don't envy you. That situations sounds challenging to say the least. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

Holding on to family is ever easy, but I'm sure their are little hidden gifts. You just have to look under the right rock. You'll find gold.

When m in-laws convene, it takes hours to decide if they're even leaving for dinner they've had reserved for months.... *sigh*

Is it good news that all the adults are genuinely fearful of the explosive potentials built into the equation? Springing from one of my favorite Zen proverbs, "Fear does not exist to make us afraid. Fear exists to make us aware of danger," I think it might be. So far, we seem to be using the fear as motivation to be considerate and look for solutions.

We see what grows. All we know for sure is financial circumstances say we either pull this one off, or we start letting people sleep in homeless shelters.

I have been reviewing my tent options, bluedragon. I likes camping enough that I often feel more at home in a tent than I do in a house, even in a house with my name on the paperwork. The most dangerous part of my putting a tent in the back yard is resisting the temptation to break camp and get on through my river valleys...

Might be time???

As kindergarten as this sounds, maybe the House Rules need to be posted in short simple words and sentences with accompanying pictures to help everyone learn to share space? Tents included, as well as sheds, garages, attics, etc...

I bring it up b/c while it's just me, hubby and my mom in our house, ground rules in simple words have been necessary since Day One. Mom gets own space. We get own space. no intruding without asking. Stuff like that. (We have to share a kitchen, so oh the joy that can bring.)

Of course, all that is based on a premise that people will follow the rules... *sigh*

Just sending more supportive vibes... Dunno if it's time to head for the hills (or the river), but take care of yourself, okay?
