13 year old daughter with severe ptsd
My beautiful 13 year old girl disclosed sex abuse that went on from the time she was 6 to 8, by my abusive ex husband (not her father). He left us in March, for a young woman with three little kid and all I felt was relief for it to be over. He was bipolar and I'm now learning, a sociopath. He was physically abusive to me and his son, but left my kids alone (so I thought). She was his favorite. He adored her and treated her differently than the others, which I attributed to her being the only girl and was just relieved he wasn't an asshole to her like he was to the rest of us. Very emotionall, mentally, abusive and manipulative. In June, my girl started cutting herself and revealed after questioning, sexual abuse. Forensic interview revealed horrifying details and manipulation. I slept on the hard floor between my then 6 year old girl and my 4 year old son, and she said when I would wake in the night and go to the couch, he would take her. We now know that she didn't come forward for fear that he would kill us all. Its a nightmare, and he's going to trial on March 11.
My question: They put her on 2mg of Prazosin for nightmares, which she said works "sometimes", and 75mg of Trazadone because she does not sleep at night. The Trazadone does NOTHING. Which is shocking to me because I have taken 25mg (when she's at Dad's) and it knocks me out for 12 hours if no alarm is set. The therapist said that if she doesn't feel "safe and secure", no medication will get her to sleep. She says she never feels safe. They are doing EDMR therapy with her now. Any advice or similar experience with teens with PTSD?

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
