10 years sober today, an entire decade!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can not believe i have 10 years today, despite all the PTSD issues and depression and physical pain. Its so hard today because I have been alone all day (My fiance is at work and mom had not come over, she said she will see me tomorrow (we live on the same property.) My fiance will be home in about an hour thankfully. I am in so much physical pain i did not get out of bed until noon today. But even my worst day sober is better than my best day drunk has ever been! I never feel the urge to drink anymore. Today is mainly hard because my Dad was more proud than anyone, even my mom of me with being sober, and since i quit smoking and self harming. I miss him so bad, I wish he was here for this! He would be so proud!

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Well, our drought isn't broken but our gutter is. Got two big storms rigth after each other and, wait for it, a tornado warning. Now, I was already running for my go-bag when I heard thunder. The air felt wrong. The sky was getting a color to the west. Been there, lived that, time to hide.No funnel touched down but the radar indicated rotation, and boy was it visible from the ground. Different...

believing as i do in the spiritual realms, i have zero doubt your daddy is right there, celebrating with you.
ANorthernSoul 3 years is awesome! All we really have is today! And each today adds up as we go!

Muji i just try to help others as much as i can when i am able!
Beryl thank you so much!
Sorry it took me so long to respond to you all, my pain and fatigue have been so severe! Had to cancel thearpy on zoom today because i hurt too bad to sit at the laptop that long without getting up and moving around or laying down etc. Also we had to take the puppies to the vet for a well check up they are 3 weeks old today and 4 of moms adult dogs (she has 5) had to go to the vet as well for shots, the one they did not do today mom forgot to give her benedryl before so she goes back on tuesday with the other that did not go today (she had a seizure at a year old from her 7 in 1 shot, shes fine with the rabies shot but every since she alwasy gets benedryl before shes 10 years old now) and my dog just had her shots a year ago. so shes good for 2 years yet. My 2 puppies along with the other 4 checked out perfect at the vet and no hernias! I am in so much pain and so tired i am just going to lay down until my fiance gets home from work now.
Muji thank you, you are alwasyso kind
I forget to celebrate my own sobriety date, (nov 25th 1988) I need to remember. (my gawd really its been 34 years)
WE define recovery as a process of transformation from a life of self destruction to a life of self care.
To be fair to myself, lol I have been recovering from open heart surgery, dealing with home nursing, and so many restrictions, not the least of which is difficulty breathing just walking in my own home. My support group keeps dying off, and I do not naturally tend to add new people, which i should always be doing.
I did not get sober alone. but was completely dependent on my support groups, and phone calls, and my sponsor. Thanks for the reminder, I need to get back to working recovery, no way i can give back enough, and neglecting step 12 is not healthy for me.
Thank you, for your work and clean time and celebrating and for the reminder of who i am and where I need to be.
