My doctor diagnosed me with PCOS because I do not have a normal period and I have cysts. I am not overweight, I do not have diabete's, or excess hair, which seem to be the main symptoms that I hear about. Do I really have PCOS or should I continue to ask that my doctor try to figure out what is wrong with me? Will finding out what is wrong with me help improve my chances of TTC?
Many of the other symptom used for diagnosis in PCOS are only in some women. The cysts though are the biggest common one, and the one that reduces your ability to conceive. If you really believe it is something else, I would pursue it, but if your follicles are only partially and staying on your ovaries - giving what look like cysts - it sounds like your doctor is right.
