I get so sick of the weight loss comments. A few years ago, a doctor told me to lose 25 pounds. But it was hard. I lost the weight a year ago and have kept it off. I'm in a new state and working with a new doctor now. And of course, he keeps mentioning that I need to lose weight. I keep saying, what about the 25 pounds I've lost and kept off? Can I get some credit for that? My blood sugar and cholesterol are good, which i'm thankful for . But the PCOS symptoms are still there. I understand that I still need to lose more weight, but I agree that weight is not the only issue.
Go in there with your head up and stand up for yourself.
I have been very serious over the last year to lose 135lbs and started getting serious about my fertility issues. I am approaching 33 and my time is running out. I have PCOS and insulin resistance, I have been on 2000mg of Metformin daily for years. I recently went to the RE to discuss treatment options - she told me everything we would be going thru and then hit me with - "you need to lose another 30lbs before we can start treatment". Talk about a slap in the face. Well it has been 3 weeks but I am down 12 more pounds. We are planning on starting treatment in June. I will probably be down 50lbs by then. Good luck at your appointment.
