Take care.
While it seems harsh she did have good intentions. Had I started fertility treatments at that weight then it wouldn't be long before I tipped the scale at 300. (fertility meds make me balloon) Being pregnant at that weight is hard (and potentinally dangerous) for mom and baby.
Drs are basically business people. Do a little bargining with your dr. "If I diet and work out for... six months, no matter how much weight I loose... you'll give me fertility meds I need. No questions asked, and no more nagging about my weight." Some drs and dense and need things to be said bluntly or they won't get it. :)
Now, my new doctor is working w/ me and some specialists to get thigs half way normal with my body, if I would have started when I was 15 I'd be a lot better now! Whatever you decide, make sure you're comfortable with your doctor. Living a healthier lifestyle is always BEST but it's very hard to lose a lot of weight when you have pcos, you have to have a lot of motivation and guts to change your life!
After reading a few books on PCOS I have come to understand why it is important for us to work on loosing weight. The extra fat cells create extra insulin and estrogen which makes it harder for women with PCOS to ovulate. So as much as it sucks to hear that we need to loose weight there is some truth to it. I know that it is harder for us to loose the weight and yet it is so worth it. I myself have lost 41 pounds in the past 4 months and I have another 44 to go.
Good luck and all the best!
So while losing weight may be a good choice for you, there are some things you can do in addition to that to help you "heal" physically as a whole.
Good luck! And I can be a buddy if you want. I need one too! :)
