I just bought a book called "A Patient's Guide To PCOS. Understanding and Reversing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" by Walter Futterweit, M.D and page 24-25 is on Epilepsy's connection to PCOS! As well as PCOS's connection with heart disease throughout the book. I found my copy at Barnes and Noble, but I believe its also on Amazon, perhaps it can ease your mind by answering some of your questions.

i just ordered the book and am looking forward to reading it.
incidentally, there were no obvious large cysts and the whomb looked ok, but the radiologist said she couldnt see too well because of my daughter's size. so why the pain, the lack of menstruation, the bleeding from back passage and the alternating diharea and constipation??? she is now going for a colonoscopy. i just wish they'd get to the bottom of things and do something to help her.

Im so sorry that you do not have an answer yet, but hang in there. They may rule out other things with the colonoscopy and decide that she does in fact have PCOS with no cysts, after all, that is the case with me.

lets hope they do rule other things out for sure. i will keep you informed.

the book arrived yesterday and i started reading and WOW is all i can say. the heart, seizures, pcos and even the drugs are all connected from what i have read.
we were back up the hospital yesterday after my daughter had 7 grand mal seizures without coming round once. they were just continuous. then she had more when the paramedics arrived and more in hospital. they took bloods to ensure her liver's functioning ok and it is, so they upped her meds again and sent her home. no further investigations!
i want to know why they havent found a connection with everything thats going on, when after reading the book, it is so obvious!!!! they are either idiots or just dont care.
thank you so much for introducing it to me. it's gonna be my bible and i will be following the various recommended programmes to get my daughter healthy again. i believe now that its possible and its thanks to you:)

Try finding her an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) and possible a dr who has a DO rather than an MD. DO's tend to look at the whole body together to figure out what is going on, rather than simply treating all the symptoms separately. good luck. That must be a very stressful and scary time for you and her. :(

Im so sorry you are going through all of that, it must be very scary. I am glad that you found that book so helpful, I certainly did. I think that perhaps seeing a reproductive endocrinologist might be helpful. I know that when I got diagnosed what really tipped them off was that my testosterone levels were REALLY high, and the only person that diagnosed me correctly was my gynecologist. And remember, if you dont feel listened to at one doctor, there are a million more out there!

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter at such a young age is having to deal with everything that she is. I really hope that the doctors can help and that they can find something to help her out. That book "A patient's Guide to PCOS" taught me more then my doctors knew about PCOS! After reading that book I knew that I had to get on top of my PCOS right away. Another book that I found to be very positive and helpful is by Katie Humphrey "Freedom From PCOS". I have been following her suggestion to help reverse my PCOS and so far I am feeling SO much better. I have been following her suggestions for the past year and I have felt better and better.
