hi i been told have pcos since 21 now 29 and sorry that is a lie weight lost does not help facal hair but it does help ur pcos. on the hair topic girl i can grow a full beard if i dont keep up with it, in past i have waxed now thread, NEVER NEVER SHAVE it just makes it worse now I am doing laser hair removal and LOVE IT it is the past thing that I have ever done !!! now after 2 months of treament it gone. I have tried it all med wise nothing really worked for me yes it slowed it down but never took it away if can do laser BEST THING EVER!!! for the first time ever in life i am hair free to the point that i loved it so much i am noe doing my legs best ever and it not that much cheaper than years of waxing :) hope this helps

I'm new here, finding this support group really helpful. I found out yesterday! My main issue is with the hair which is everywhere, includng the face, which lets face it, is the most upsetting place. I'm of normal weight so I can tell you from my viewpoint anyway that weight has nothing to do with it.
I spend a lot of time looking in the mirror ,armed with a pair of tweezerman tweezers, mainly concentrating on the chin. I've always been too scared to completely remove the hair from the sides of my face completely as it comes back so fast. But I dread seeing any pictures of me, because everyone can see it.
Of course losing weight is still a good idea Liliann, for obvious health reasons. Hang in there :-)

I've been diagnosed since I was in High School. I do electrolysis and it's amazing. It's sort of expensive and not the most comfortable process but it works and makes me feel so much better about myself. Well worth the money. I've learned that I sprout hair when I am stressed and especially after I went off of birth control. I wouldn't shave personally so electrolysis was the right choice for me. There are a ton of options out there. Hang in there, you are not alone.

I have facial hair too as a result of PCOS. I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple days ago. They put me on bc pills to regulate my periods and said it would help my facial hair get better. They said my testosterone levels are very high. M doctor told me I have to lose at least 30 lbs to get rid of PCOS but it's so hard since PCOS makes it difficult to control your weight. I feel you pain and I am here for you if you need to vent or just wanna chat.

summersmomma, I hate to tell you he's wrong, but losing weight does not make it go away. There are lots and lots of average weight women out there that have PCOS. Being overweight can make it worse, but does not cause it. If you remember Kate on Jon and Kate, She was definitely not overweight and she had PCOS. I don't know what meds she took, but she did have an IUI to have all those little ones.

Julieann98- I didn't think they were right about the weight thing either. What's with these doctor's and weight loss being the solution to everything. Geez lol. I didn't remember about Kate having PCOS. Thanks for responding to me:)
