I won't go into details about my journey to save you time, but know that I was on the brink of going through with a hysterectomy (as recommended by my doctor) because I was basically just a hot mess in that department.
I saw another Dr (an RE) and she recommended simply going on a diabetic diet. I kind of chuckled like "Ya, right. Clearly you have no idea about the HELL I have been through in the last 2 years. I was actually going to cut these suckers out and you think a DIET is going to fix my problems?!"
Within a week my life was completely changed!!!! I said goodbye to the fatigue, hunger between meals, the bloating, cut way down on the amount and severity of migraines, my blood pressure returned to normal (it was low), my mood swings were in check, the hypothyroidism was gone, and for the first time I realized just how shitty I had felt before!
Do it! Obvoiusly, results will be different for everyone. However, it's worth a shot right?!
I will be 100% honest with you that I have not seen any weight loss benefits from the "diet." I have lost 15 pounds and kept it off over the course of the last 2.5 years (However, I have a very looooooong way to go). But, i will also be honest in saying that I took the "diet" as a change in what I was eating, not a calorie constricted "diet."
COunting and weighing everything CAN be frustrating. But realize you only have to do that for a few weeks. After diligently weighing everything you wille asily be able to identify whart a single potion of chicken looks like and you will no longer have weigh it. Does that make sense?
Good luck! I would highly reccommend this to anyone!!!! My RE had me do the Atkins diet for 2 weeks to kind of "carb detox." That helped me get in the right mental place to make the changes.
